Pvt., Croft-Acton Cemetery, Marked 2005 by Alabama Daughters. VA Marker placed by descendants Kenneth Lee Brown and Scott Martin. Thomas Bailey served in Captain James Cummings Company of Tennessee militia. He was mustered into service in Rogersville, Hawkins County, TN for a term of six month commencing on 8 Oct 1814 until 3rd May, 1815. He is described as being 5 feet 8 inches tall, fair and fair haired, eyes gray on his enrollment card. He is buried next to his second wife, Elizabeth Hail Bailey. He died in 1860. He received bounty land; the application was executed in Jefferson County on 16 Aug 1855, warrants 8106 and 34473, 160 acres under the act of 1850.

Barton, Hugh Capt., born 1775 in VA and died after 1850 in Franklin County, AL. He was married to Mary Shirley. He was a Captain in Brown's Regiment of East Tennessee miliitia. In 1850 he received BL Wt. 35856. See Gandrud-McLane.

Bates, Jehu. He enlisted at Camden, Kershaw District, S.C. and served from October 12, 1814 until March 3, 1815 as a private in Captain Francis Blair's company of S.C. militia. See Widow's pension claim #42,295, Cert. No. 33361 National Archives. He is buried in the Barney Plot in the Putnam Cemetery in Marengo County, AL.

Bell, John; War of 1812; AL County: Franklin. John Bell was born ca. 1787 in East Tenneessee, married in Lee County, TN to Mary Skidmore. He was drafter in Lincoln County, TN and discharged at Fayetteville, TN. He served from 28 Jan 1814 to 10 May 1814 for 3 mo. and 14 days as a private in Capt. John Chitwood's Co of infantry, Col Robert Steele's Regt. West Tennessee . He applied for bounty land on 11 Jan 1851 from Franklin Co., AL and received BL Wt. 38498-40-50. He applied for additional bounty land on 28 Apr 1855 from Franklin Co. AL and received Bl Wt. 78554-120-55. His widow applied for a pension on 17 Jun 1878 and died ca. 1885.

Brahan, John. Major General. General John Brahan was born in Fauquier Co., VA on June 8, 1774. He married Mary Weakley in Nashville, TN on June 24, 1810. He was a General under Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans. He lived in Huntsville, AL for many years before relocating near Florance, AL where he died on June 8, 1834. He is buried in the family cemetary at his old plantation, "Sweetwater". Mary Weakley was the daughter of Col. Robert Weakley and Jane Locke of Nashville, TN. She was born in Nashville on July 12, 1792 and died at Sweetwater on Jan. 7, 1837 where she is buried next to her husband.

Burchfield, Elijah. Pvt. William Henderson's Company of East Tennessee Mounted men 20 Sep 1814 to 03 May, 1815. Pension SC #18056 NARA, 80 acre land warrant issued 18 August, 1851 and sent to Burchfield who was living at that time at Harpersville, AL He was married to Mary H. (maiden name unknown) whom he married in Lincoln County, Tennessee. Burchfield is buried in the Harpersville, AL Cemetery. He was born in 1792 and died 13 May, 1872. His grave was reported by the AS Daughters of 1812. Location report filed and dated 15 Jan 2007.

Bush, Moses E. Served as Private Georgia militia, Captain Thomas's Company 1813-14 and as Musician 3rd. Regt (Wimberly's) Georgia militia, Dec 1814/March 1815. He was a resident of Washington County, Georgia. He later moved to Barbour County, Alabama and is buried there in the Rocky Mount Cemetery.
