Thorn, Presley. Born in N.C. where he was listed as having served in the N.C. militia during the American Revolution. Presley Thorn married Anne
Williams in Warren County, NC 17th. December, 1783. He moved with his family to the Mississippi Territory before the War of 1812. He served in a Batallion of the 7 Regiment (Perkins) Misssissippi Militia. Presley and his wife Anne are buried in the Old Burleson Cemetery in Franklin County, AL
